چکیده
conclusions the most common qnr gene was qnrb, and none of the isolates carried qnra or qepa. the aac (6’)-ib-cr variant was the most prevalent pmqr gene, and it was associated with the prevalence of ciprofloxacin resistance in our esbl-producing isolates. results of the 123 isolates, 103 (83.73%) had one of the five pmqr genes, including 83 (83.83%) of the 99 e. coli strains and 20 (86.95%) of the 23 k. pneumoniae strains. materials and methods here, to evaluate the prevalence of pmqr genes at aleppo university hospitals in syria, 123 extended spectrum beta-lactamases (esbl)-producing isolates of escherichia coli and klebsiella pneumoniae from the hospitals were selected for screening based on ciprofloxacin resistance. five pmqr genes [qnra, qnrb, qnrs, aac (6’)-ib, and qepa] were screened by simplex pcr, and the aac (6’)-ib-positive pcr products were digested with btsci to detect the aac (6’)-ib-cr variant. background recently, several plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (pmqr) genes conferring low levels of quinolone resistance have been discovered. objectives the aim of the present study is to determine the prevalence of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance genes in a collection of esbl-producing isolates of e. coli and k. pneumonia in aleppo, syria.

The Prevalence of TEM and SHV Genes among Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamases Producing Escherichia Coli and Klebsiella Pneumoniae
Objective(s) Production of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) by enteric bacteria continues to be a major problem in hospitals and community. ESBLs producing bacteria cause many serious infections including urinary tract infections, peritonitis, cholangitis and intra-abdominal abscess. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of ESBLs producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiel...

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and molecular characterization of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR) genes (qnrA, qnrB, qnrS, aac(6')-Ib-cr, and qepA) among ESBL-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates in Kashan, Iran. A total of 185 K. pneumoniae isolates were tested for quinolone resistance and ESBL-producing using the disk diffusion method and double disk...
متن کاملAntibiotic Resistance Pattern and the Prevalence of Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) in Urinary Isolates of Klebsiella Pneumoniae
Abstract Background and Objective: Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic nosocomial pathogen causing a variety of infections including urinary tract infections, pneumonia, septicemia, wound infections and infections in the intensive care units. Since the ESBL producing Klebsiella pneumoniae strains are increasingly causing urinary tract infections, we aim to assess antibiotic resistance pat...

Background: CTX-M-type extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) are the most prevalent ESBLs in bacterial members of Enterobacteriaceae family including Klebsiella pneumoniae. The global spread of CTX-M-producing K. pneumoniae is a major concern in most countries including Iran. The aim of this meta-analysis was to determine the relative frequency (RF) of blaCTX-M gene among ESBLs-producing K. pn...
